An Albertan, an Ontarian and a Newfie are sitting together at lunch-time on a high-rise construction site. The Albertan opens his lunch box and, to his disgust, pulls out a ham sandwich.

“Another ham sandwich,” he says. “If my wife packs me one more damn ham sandwich, I’m jumping off this building.”

The Ontarian opens his lunch box, where he, too, has a ham sandwich.

“Ugh, a ham sandwich! I swear, if my wife makes me one more ham sandwich, I’ll jump off this building!”

The Newfie rifles through his lunch and, to his horror, pulls out a ham sandwich.

“Lord tunderin’ Jesus, b’y,” he says, “if my wife packs me anudder ham sandwich, I’m jumping off dis building!”

The next day, the three men find ham sandwiches in their lunches and jump off the building.

At the funeral their three wives stand together, crying.

“If only I’d known. I thought he loved ham sandwiches!” cries the Albertan’s wife.

“If he’d told me, I’d have made him something new!” wails the Ontarian’s wife.

“I don’t understand,” the Newfie’s wife sobs, “my husband packed his own lunch every day!”
